QUARTERBACK
Eli Manning
———Ryan Nassib
———Curtis Painter

*Manning is obviously the starter, but there is some doubt as to who his backup will be.
*David Carr was a surprise cut, indicating the Giants have faith that rookie Ryan Nassib can handle the duties.

RUNNING BACK
David Wilson (3DB, GLB)
———Andre Brown (broken leg – out 4-6 weeks)
———Da’Rel Scott
———Michael Cox

*Andre Brown’s broken leg could open an opportunity for Wilson to run away with a feature role which is a HUGE boost to his draft stock. He should see increased goal line touches while Brown is out.
*While it’s easy to get excited about Wilson’s upside, don’t get carried away just yet. It was his weak pass protection moreso than Brown’s ability that caused this platoon and it could result in another back (other than Wilson) taking the work that would’ve went to Brown.
*If Wilson doesn’t handle the duties well in Week 1 however (and maybe even if he does), look for the Giants to work some veteran RBs. Once Week 1 has passed and contracts don’t have to be guaranteed, it’s much more likely they bring in a temporary vet replacement for Brown than before Week 1.

WIDE RECEIVER
LWR Hakeem Nicks (groin – probable for Week 1)
———Rueben Randle (WR3)

RWR Victor Cruz
———Louis Murphy
———Jerrel Jernigan

*Hakeem Nicks is always a health risk; he looks healthy for Week 1, but the other shoe can drop at any time.
*Randle has starter tools, and is a very savvy late-round pick for those expecting an inevitable Nicks injury.
*Jernigan is very likely to return kicks this year, since Wilson is now the “feature back”.

TIGHT END
Brandon Myers
———Bear Pascoe
———Adrien Robinson
———Larry Donnell

*Myers is said to be developing a “red-zone rapport” with Eli Manning, for what that’s worth. There are many receiving options on this team, however.
*Pascoe will likely play fullback for a while with regular FB Henry Hynoski nursing an injury.

KICKER
Josh Brown

*Brown was signed to replace long-time PK Lawrence Tynes
