QUARTERBACK
Geno Smith (ankle – probable for Week 1)
———Mark Sanchez (shoulder – questionable for Week 1)
———Matt Simms
———Brady Quinn

*Sanchez went down with a shoulder injury and looks like he might not be ready to start the season.
*With Sanchez’s shoulder injury (and even without it) Geno Smith is now looking like the Jets’ starter. Smith was a disaster in the pre-season and likely isn’t ready to start so tread lightly.
*Matt Simms surprised a lot of people with a strong pre-season finale and beat out McElroy for the 3rd QB job.
*The crapousel at QB continues as Brady Quinn has been brought in to take the place of Graham Harrell who himself was just claimed then cut. Stay as far away from the Jets QB situation as possible.

RUNNING BACK
Chris Ivory (hamstring – probable for Week 1) (3DB, GLB)
———Bilal Powell (GLB)
———Mike Goodson (suspended 4 games)
———Kahlil Bell

*What a mess! If Ivory is healthy (which is unlikely for the whole season), he should start; he is much better than the plodder Powell.
*Goodson returned to camp after dealing with his personal issues and was immediately suspended for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
*Kahlil Bell was sent packing following the claim of Alex Green on waivers.

WIDE RECEIVER
LWR Stephen Hill
———Ryan Spadola

RWR Jeremy Kerley
———Clyde Gates (WR3)
———Santonio Holmes (foot – likely PUP candidate)

*Hill has the talent to be a great #1 WR, but the QB situation limits his upside greatly.
*The Holmes situation is a fiasco, and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if he never plays for the Jets (or anyone) again.
*Gates has been good in camp, but he never plays well when the pads go on.
*Needless to say, stay away from this situation on draft day.

TIGHT END
Jeff Cumberland
———Kellen Winslow
———Konrad Reuland

*Cumberland is definitely the starter, as the Jets limit Winslow’s snaps to keep him healthy.

KICKER
Nick Folk

*Nick Folk has been a very shaky option at kicker but was able to beat out Billy Cundiff for the job.
