QUARTERBACK
Ben Roethlisberger
———Bruce Gradkowski
———Landry Jones

*The Steelers finally signed a competent backup in Gradkowski for when the oft-sacked Big Ben misses time

RUNNING BACK
Isaac Redman
———Felix Jones (3DB)
———LaRod Stephens-Howling (3DB)
———Le’Veon Bell (foot – week-to-week)

*Le’Veon Bell is still on the shelf with his foot injury. He says he’s hoping to be back for Week 2 but more than likely, he’ll likely be out at least 4-6 weeks per his original timetable.
*With the surprise cut of Jonathan Dwyer, Isaac Redman looks like he’ll start for this ugly committee Week 1. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review says Felix Jones is a possibility to start. While we don’t buy that, it’s clear this is going to be one ugly committee attack.

WIDE RECEIVER
LWR Emmanuel Sanders
———Markus Wheaton

RWR Antonio Brown
———Jerricho Cotchery (WR3)
———Derek Moye

*The Steelers have two WRs under 6′ tall starting for them; this offense will likely have a lot of crossing routes
*Cotchery is the #3 for now, but he is wearing down with age. Bet on Wheaton overtaking him soon for slot duties
*Wheaton’s route-running ability and athleticism make him a perfect fit for the slot

TIGHT END
Heath Miller (knee – doubtful for Week 1)
———David Johnson (knee – out ~ 4 weeks)
———David Paulson
———Matt Spaeth (foot – PUP/IR candidate)
———Michael Palmer

*Miller was not placed on PUP by the Steelers so it’s clear they don’t believe his injury to be long-term but he still isn’t expected to be ready for around a month.
*Spaeth made the final roster but is still unlikely to suit up for a long time following Lisfranc surgery.
*David Paulson could end up starting Week 1 by process of elimination. This situation is absolutely horrible for Pittsburgh and for fantasy purposes.

KICKER
Shaun Suisham

*Suisham had an uncharacteristically accurate year in 2012; don’t expect that again this season
